Our FAVORITE FEEDER must appear on the bargain page because it
can be purchased for under $5. This feeder is by First Nature
and is simple to use and simple to clean. We love it!

Notice that the feeder on the right has an ant barrier cup
attached to the top.The cup is also by First Nature purchased at WalMart
for about a dollar. Fill the cup with either water or mineral oil
to keep ants from invading the feeder.

Simply shop with an open mind (plus a touch of imagination)
and you will discover wonderful items to invite birds into your life.


Location! Location! Location!

Bargain hunters shop at thrift stores and scavenge for hidden treasures.
Use this same technique at neighborhood stores. The single word to remember is:

 CLEARANCE!

Always check for clearance items in your favorite stores.
We shop WalMart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, even the 99-cent Store
in search of birding treasures for next to nothing.
Internet stores have bargains too!



Sugar dispenser for sugar storage (WalMart).

Late Spring is clearance time for packaged waterlily bulbs.
The bulb is pre-planted in rooting material surrounded by netting
(no need for planting baskets). Just drop directly into the pond or
start in a large container of water. Attach the included string and
floating artificial waterlily to mark the bulb's location.
